any other Christians fed up of waiting for 'the one'?
or, do you join me in doubting that they even exist?

i am seriously tired of waiting. i’m early 20s but still haven’t been in a relationship yet, and i feel like God’s plan for my life is for me to become a nun/be alone forever.

what is so wrong with me that i haven’t found anyone whilst my other christian friends are in good relationships?

for those of you who have found ‘the one’, did you get frustrated whilst waiting, and how long did you have to wait? or, did you just go out and look for someone?

seventeen years and a lot of mistakes before i found "the one". he was/is well worth the wait.
bear | Feb 07, 2010

You’ll need to look around if you want to find someone who is right for you. There is no such thing as "the one."

If you wait for "the one" you will never find a companion in life. Also, many of your friends will end up divorced. Wait for someone who is right for you, but be open and take a good look around.

early 20s??? I am 36 and still waiting. Even had 2 kids in the process. The men that I have come across think that they are god and say they are "the one." and end up hurting and abusing me. I am about to give up.
Empire of the Sun | Feb 07, 2010

If you are in your early 20’s I would not obsess with finding the "right one". Focus on collage and a career. The rest will fall into place.
Hello | Feb 07, 2010

LOL, it’s so funny because I’m almost 36 and still havent’ found the one! It was frustrating and often I have felt like the 5th wheel. But I just look at it as a greater opportunity to grow in my relationship with God. For me personally, I have gotten to the point where I’m not so concerned with dating anymore. I have been truly blessed that God has filled that void for me. I wish you much happiness and blessings! And good luck finding "the one".
kiwaku | Feb 07, 2010

Inside faith or out, "the one" is romantic nonsense. There are probably a couple of thousand potential mates for you, any of which would give you a reasonable chance at happiness.

I’ve been married 24 years. It doesn’t matter whether she was "the one" - we’ve made a pretty good life. Another woman might have been as good a match, but it’s of no consequence.

Relax, date, spend time with people, see who ends up attracting you or not. Relationships will naturally form and break until one clicks - either because it’s that good, or because you started to run out of patience. That’s how it works for everybody. Good luck.
Psychiatric Help 5? | Feb 07, 2010

It can be frustrating and lonely when all your friends are in serious relationships and you are still waiting.

Sometimes the better things take a little longer to finish….keep on loving Him and trusting Him. He knows your desires and the perfect match for you.

He is better able to bring the best into your life than you are to conjure it!
vauxchic | Feb 07, 2010

I don’t think it’s just Christians. I’m a Christian, but I know there are many others out there waiting too. I do get tired of waiting. I have shed tears from being lonely and wondering, and just waiting and feeling like I’m getting further behind and wasting time while everyone else is getting further ahead and planning their futures. It does get irritating, and it does get frustrating. But I’ve realized God’s timing is perfect. My guy will come when he’s supposed to, and it’ll be perfect timing in the end. I pray every night that God will put the perfect guy in my life, and will continue to pray that prayer, and when the time comes I’ll thank God for putting him into my life. It’ll happen, just be patient and pray.
Topanga | Feb 07, 2010

I’ve often been told that ‘the one’ comes when we stop waiting for a spouse and just serve God as best we can. Because if we get so stuck on waiting for a spouse then when we do get someone they might become more important than God.

Acts 2:38–Saving Grace
Redeemed | Feb 07, 2010

I am in the same boat.. Everyone is surprised I haven’t found my "one" yet and I’m 28! But I was thinking about it the wrong way before. We cannot see the whole picture, and God know’s what is best for us. Maybe the right guy for us has something going on in his life right now that he cant be with us right now. Maybe we have to wait for the exact right time for our paths to cross so it would work out. All I can say is you should not dwell on it… but be happy with your life as it is, and enjoy your friends and family and enjoy being single! You certainly don’t want to look too hard for a relationship because you might end up with the wrong person. And that is a lot worse than being single!
Little_one | Feb 07, 2010

Oh no. I will wait with joyful expectation of His coming to take His true believers to heaven. We now know the absolute day of His coming from what we are learning in these last days before His coming when we shall see Him face to face, resurrected to meet Him in the clouds of glory.
Jechezkel | Feb 07, 2010

I know how you feel - I’m 24 and have never been in a serious relationship. And while sometimes it can be difficult to see my friends in relationships, it’s so important to not get frustrated. Everyone is different! God’s plan for your friends is NOT His plan for you! There’s nothing wrong with you!

All you can do is trust that God has good reason for your still being single, and keep working to become a better Christian. You can prepare so that when you do meet "the one" you will be ready spiritually and emotionally. And it is surely pleasing to God that you have been patient and chaste and followed His plan for you instead of just jumping into a bad relationship just because you wanted a boyfriend.

God always rewards those who are faithful to Him! When you do finally meet "the one" it will be that much more rewarding because you did it according to God’s timetable and not your own! Feel free to send me an e-mail if you want to talk more about this! God bless =)

The Chosen One | Feb 07, 2010

You do realize that blaming organized religion for that is like blaming atheists for Stalin right? Just because some of them are bad doesn’t mean everyone is bad.

@Red Doll Shoes- You really got to work on your issues. It’s true not all religious people are like that. If they were then all religious people would be in jail.
Exodiafinder | Feb 07, 2010

That was totally disgusting.
timelady | Feb 07, 2010

Prepare for the mob of apologists telling you the lame-assed "not all religious people are like that" bullshit.

And yes, religion sucks, as it’s the #1 cause of murder.
Red Doll Shoes | Feb 07, 2010

The actions of a few individuals of a specific religion in no way reflects on all religions in general.
JBates4God | Feb 07, 2010

I don’t issue blanket condemnations of religion, politics, atheism, liberalism, etc based on the actions of a few who badly misrepresent the rest.

That is disgusting, though.
Mythos (In the dog house) | Feb 07, 2010

That’s why I never talk to boys.
They’re very bad.
They grow up to be stinky hairy beasts.
Origami | Feb 07, 2010

I’m disgusted by human nature… and at the same time love it. It’s the same with religions.
I’ve seen plenty of people do horrible, selfish, and downright evil acts. Religion had nothing to do with those actions. But when these same people get ahold of a religion, then they make it worse.

Everyone has a choice in life. Do the right thing or do the wrong thing. If religion were the reason for people doing the wrong thing, then a lot of Atheists have some answering to do.
Judging all religions based on some of the horrible things that people do isn’t really wise. If I judged all Atheists by the grumpy, rude, and immature Atheists I have worked with…. then I’d hate all Atheists. Thankfully I focus on the polite, mature, and fun Atheists that I have studied with, been friends with, and met on R&S.
Buddy_Lee_Hombre_de_accion | Feb 07, 2010

That’s incredibly tragic but I’m a member of an organized religion (I’m Catholic) and I wouldn’t do that, nor would anyone else I know.

There are sickos in every group…. I’m sure there are atheists who have murdered people, too.
TMinfo | Feb 07, 2010

I keep trying to answer the question, but find I have nothing to say that wouldn’t end up a rant.
That is one of the things that put me against religion. The fact that some kill in the name of it.
conundrum_dragon | Feb 07, 2010

So people who are not involved in organized religion never do bad things? How stupid.
Aflac | Feb 07, 2010

In the past 80 years, over 100 million people have been killed by atheists in positions of government power in communist regimes around the world.

So by your logic, atheism is something that people should really be disgusted by.
.
Lady Wildcat | Feb 07, 2010

Well, to be fair, most authorities say "honor" killings are more cultural than religious, AND not all organized religions are Islam, or the more virulent strains of Christianity.

Yes, I’m disgusted by that story, and horrified. However, I don’t think it’s a good source to form the basis of a general condemnation of all religion.
Rico JPA | Feb 07, 2010

I’m not quite certain what this has to do with religion… anyways this is only one case of such a murder. Yes I feel really upset by this but we shouldn’t condemn all Muslims just because her psychotic grandfather killed her so gruesomely. It’s called stereotyping and scapegoating.
atomforyou | Feb 07, 2010

I’m disgusted with extremists, and I also disagree with some doctrines. However, I am not disgusted with religion in general, just because there are some homicidal maniacs that cling to it. It’s like saying I don’t like redheads, because Tedd Bundy only killed, and targeted redheaded women.
?careithinkyoudo | Feb 07, 2010

Is it any wonder when people are disgusted by people who make broad generalizations of every organized religion based on one crazy group?

yes, these people (if they truly did this) are crazy and need to tried, convicted and sentenced. This sort of thing is horrifying. But to use this as a pathetic attack at ALL organized religion is also pathetic.
Ray M | Feb 07, 2010

this is where merely sending them to court for jail time or death or is not enough punishment… i truly hope the prisoners where they will be going tortures and kills them… i have no sympathy for these people and though im sorry that girl went through all that horror and torture i AM glad she is out of it now.

honor is all bull, i don’t understand why people care about that over their own family
rebbyshy1 | Feb 07, 2010

I see your point, and yes organized religion is responsible for many of society’s ills. But not all organized religion is the same. Islam is not as peaceful as Judaism and Christianity. If anyone tries to claim that, then they do not know that Islam was founded by a violent man who literally lived by the sword, and himself killed hundreds of innocent women and children. That would be akin to Jesus slaughtering the nonbelievers. Of course you will practice a violent religion if your own founder is himself a butcher.
bloggerdude2005 | Feb 07, 2010

As a gun does not kill but the person wielding it,
so organized religion does not produce evil people.

Jesus did not advocate organization, nor is it supported anywhere in the New Testament.
Vincent | Feb 07, 2010

Oh, ‘they’ will just say it’s that other religion or they weren’t really religious or it was cultural or some other duck ‘n weave.
They will absolve themselves any way they can cos, let’s face it, it takes guts to NOT believe in invisible sky critters.

Everard G | Feb 07, 2010

it made me cry too. i saw it earlier. that poor precious girl.

those men will pay for what they did to that child, i assure you. God will avenge all those who are wrongly killed.

we cannot blame religion for this, but people, and God will hold them accountable. how can anyone not believe in Him?! don’t you know that He’s the only one who can mete out true justice to the evil scum who commit these kinds of crimes?

Jordan Honor Killing: Man Confesses
To Brutally Stabbing To Death Pregnant Sister
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/12 /jordan-honor-killing-man-_n_185977.html
[Excerpts]

"Jordanian man confessed to stabbing to death his pregnant sister and mutilating her body to protect the family honor, said Jordanian authorities on Sunday."

"The 28-year-old married woman was five months pregnant and stabbed repeatedly in the face, neck, abdomen and back as well as being hacked up with a meat cleaver, according to government pathologist Awad al-Tarawneh."

"But attempts to introduce harsher sentences have been blocked in Jordan’s parliament, where the predominantly conservative Bedouin lawmakers argue that tougher penalties would lead to adultery."
* * *

What kind of sick mind must a person have to believe that adultery is worse than murder? That talking to boys is worse than murder?

I can’t wrap my head around such barbarity being allowed to exist. I don’t care if it’s because of culture or religion, this kind of behavior has got to be stopped. If a man feels he’s been unbearably dishonored he should kill himself.

Obama from a French perspective : what has achieved your commander in chief?
I’m French. I have nothing against your president.
After a year in the oval office, what did you boss? NOTHING !
Even French president Sarkozy sounds harsher about Iran than Obama.
Obama is a big disappointment. It was just another marketing product from the Democrats. He acts like Jimmy Carter. For the best of your country, I hope you’ll have a new Reagan in the next future.

Sorry for mistakes : english is not my my language.
Sorry for the french bashers who will call me a surrender monkey.

Europe needs a strong America not a weak America. I’ll be sad when China will pass the US. So, COME ON my Yankee friends : change your president ! This one is just fashionable.

That an African American has been elected to our highest is achievement in and of itself. The hatred of our President by the opposition, and of many, many voters, borne largely from racism, has thwarted any initiatives he has put forward so far. Imagine, for one instance, if by some quirk your Country elected a Muslim, or a full blooded Jew. Do you think either one could accomplish anything?
beatle1909 | Feb 04, 2010

Your Engrish is great.

Hey, we just had 8 years of George W. Bush and before that 8 years of Bill Clinton. Don’t you think its time we got an intelligent (not Bush) adult (neither Clinton or Bush) for a president?

I love France (and you) (cue "La Marseilles"), but what you are saying is equivalent to saying Jean Marie Le Pen should (must) replace N. Sarkozy. You can be sad all you want, it is relatively inevitable that China will pass the US. It’s debatable whether the policies of Obama are better or worse than George W. Bush vis a vis making the US stronger relative to China. IF Obama is correct and his attempts to recover from the recession are successful the US COULD be relatively stronger. By the way, we could use some more significant help against the Taliban and Al Qeda. I have HEARD that everyone is contributing but the USA is obviously pulling 85-90% of the burden.

Just like France the USA is not a parliamentary system so we have to wait out Obama’s term.

Hey, given the choices if we’d wanted a fashionable president we’d now have John Edwards as our president. He was a snappy dresser and a real looker. Obama’s just an ordinary looking guy if you ask me.

I knew if I read all the remarks I would ‘find’ the Democratic Liberal SOcialist Tossing in the Race Card…How they say in French??? Passe??? what we say in English is Stale Smear…People have gotten passed the ‘Race issue’ regarding this Loser President. The only ones that still toss the Race Card are the Members of the SOuthern White Gentleman’s Club. SOme call them the KKK some call them The Democratic National Committee… Either way, they are the only ‘Club’ still using that stale piece of rabble rousing chatter.
Oh, and for the Foreign folks viewing this ‘debate’ the History of the Democratic party is interesting to say the least. THEY were the party that planned and executed the US CIVIL WAR. THEY are the Party that AFTER the war, denied the men of color the right to vote in elections. THEY were the party that gathered their membership together, donned white sheets and hoods then rode out into the night Burning down homes of black citizens and Hanging black citizens. THIS was the Party that Stood Against integration of the schools and public places. NOW this is the Party that is destroying the working mans livelihood through taxation and fees….

But I am with you, we need to RECALL this president….We can’t afford 3 more years of his reckless spending and Building of government…

PS…with all the folks losing their jobs, the GOVERNMENT is GROWING JOBS….Interesting….

Since I know people will stick to the most known, here are some really good ones that don’t get the publicity they deserve.
Action wise:
-Darker than Black
-Blood +
-Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (Don’t pay attention to the people who have only watched the first episode + the first series)
-Fate Stay Night
-Code Geass (Definitely both seasons )<== watch this first!
-Afro Samurai (if you dont mind blood)
-Get Backers
-Black Cat

Romance + Comedy:
-Air TV (really good but it ends up leaving you hanging..)
-Great Teacher Onizuka (old but really funny in a weird way)
-Fruits Basket (really cute ;))
-Hikaru No Go (not so much romance and comedy but its good nonetheless - long though)

That is all from your list. ;p There is plenty more.

Don't say this to a cop! (ha ha)?
The top 20 things not to say to a cop when he pulls you over.

20. I can’t reach my license unless you hold my beer.

19. Sorry officer, I didn’t realize my radar detector wasn’t plugged in.

18. Aren’t you the guy from the villiage people?

17. Hey, you must have been doing 125 to keep up with me, good job.

16. I thought you had to be in relatively good physical shape to be a police officer.

15. I was going to be a cop, but I decided to finish high school instead.

14. Bad cop. No donut.

13. You’re not going to check the trunk, are you?

12. Gee, that gut sure doesn’t inspire confidence.

11. Didn’t I see you get your butt kicked on cops?

10. Is it true that people become cops because they are too dumb to work at McDonalds?

9. I pay your salary

8. So uh, you on the take or what?

7. Gee officer, that’s terrific. The last officer only gave me a warning.

6. Do you know why you pulled me over? Okay, just so one of us does.

5. I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes, I know there is no other cars around, that’s how far they are ahead of me.

4. What do you mean have I been drinking? You are the trained specialist.

3. Well, when I reached down to pick up my bag of crack, my gun fell off of my lap and got lodged between the brake and the gas pedal, forcing me to speed out of control.

2. Hey, is that a 9mm? That’s nothing compared to this 44 magnum.

1. Hey, can you give me another one of those full cavity searches?

LMAO!!!!!
how about
dont u dare make me take out my trunkmonkey!!!!!

trunkmonkey i got from youtube

Baader Meinhof Complex, The

Baader Meinhof Complex, The
Baader Meinhof Complex, The (2008)

IMDB rating: 7.40

Plot: Germany in the 1970s: Murderous bomb attacks, the threat of terrorism and the fear of the enemy inside are rocking the very foundations of the yet fragile German democracy. The radicalised children of the Nazi generation lead by Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof and Gudrun Ensslin are fighting a violent war against what they perceive as the new face of fascism: American imperialism supported by the German establishment, many of whom have a Nazi past. Their aim is to create a more human society but by employing inhuman means they not only spread terror and bloodshed, they also lose their own humanity. The man who understands them is also their hunter: the head of the German police force Horst Herold. And while he succeeds in his relentless pursuit of the young terrorists, he knows he’s only dealing with the tip of the iceberg.

When will the German film "The Baader Meinhof Complex" be released in the United States?
thanks

I would go to the film’s website and look for the release schedule. It is playing in the San Francisco area right now. It probably won’t go into wide release. If you live in or near a large city then it will probably come to your area soon.

dont know how to ask this guy out…?
well ive only ever had 4 boyfriends and all of them lasted only about a day and they all asked me first. so i rly dont have any experience. so bear with me here lol. so i like this one guy and i know him alright… weve joked around b4, weve hung out at skool together but were not rly very close. i think he likes me back atleast a little tiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bit. my friends tell me to just gather up the courage and ask him out but im too scared… i know the worst thing he could say is no but he could also tell his friends (thats my main fear). so how should i get the guts to ask him? and when i do feel brave enough, how do i do it? thnx :)

Joke: punch em in the gut so he leans over and kiss him and say "thats for not asking me out!"

Real: He’s probably still thinking. act kinda cute round em and get em to try and flirt with you then play KIND OF hard to get go little at a time if he tries to flirt back lightly just act cute if he flirts hard shoo him off steadily but not enough to give em the wrong idea. that would pretty much be teasing so yes its fine then after he knows your the catch of the day you ask HIM out.

Joke 2: then live happily ever after have 32 kids and live in florida

"Bad Mother F-er" engraved flask?
Can anyone tell me where I can find the flask version of the "Bad Mother F-er" wallet from pulp fiction?

try e-bay
leatherface | Feb 01, 2010

Hi Mark,

This is simple text engraving and can be done by most custom laser engraving shops (like ours). Some shops will charge by the line of text so look for a shop that offers unlimited text engraving, or just be wary of additional wordage costs as they can add up fast.

Good luck
